pipe-fitter.

Wooden forms created over the years explore how shape can be expressed through material, capturing movement, gesture, and a sense of embodied presence.
Inspired by the work of his grandfather, the sculptor Hans Dornseiffer, Hizkia Pepijn continually returns to a conversation with him through form. Each piece becomes part of this ongoing dialogue, evoking memories and allowing the process of making to become a means of remembrance.

Nippori Flame Seater, 2023
Upon discovering a small shop of a fabric craftsman, this chair was inspired by the fire of the volcano of Mount Fuji and created with the fabric found in the shop on the side of the road in the fabric district of Nippori, Tokyo.

Demi, 2023
A form that shaped itself,
a body that desired sentience.
Reminiscent of morphology, Demi is the child of a god and a human that was created in the absence of mind.
